Phillips team sponsored run in aid of AHLU

On Wednesday 26th March fourteen team members from Phillips auction house will be running in “Chase the Moon” in Battersea Park, an organised and timed race, in support of Art History Link-Up. Phillips is very generously covering the entry fees.

This informal group of avid runners is led by Matt Langton, Senior International Specialist, Director, Modern and Contemporary Department, Phillips. Most of the runners are from the Modern and Contemporary Department, however include team members from Bids and Post-Sales Services, and also Phillips’ General Counsel. The team ranges in age from their twenties to fifty plus; many run to work as part of their commute.

So it was an appropriate and unanimous choice for the team to support AHLU, thereby combining both their art and running passions. Matt says, “Working in the arts industry we want to support an arts charity that is close to us our hearts. Many of us were fortunate to study art history and therefore we have chosen to raise as much money as possible for Art History Link-Up.”

Like AHLU, the Phillips “Chase the Moon” team is keen to diversify the art world. We could not be prouder that Matt and team have chosen to support AHLU as the beneficiary of this very impressive undertaking and will be cheering them onwards on 26th March.

The team got off to a flying start and within 24 hours had raised over £650 for AHLU: find out more and how to support the runners here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/phillipscharityrun?newPage=true

Huge thanks to the team and their supporters, and to Phillips, for so generously supporting our cause and mission to ensure that Art History is for everyone.

Art History is under threat

We believe art history should be for everyone, however fewer than 1% of state supported secondary schools offer Art History A Level. As a result, there is a lack of diversity in the arts sector and an increasing skills shortage. We are the only charity offering formal Art History teaching to school-aged students from all backgrounds. Your financial support will ensure that everyone has an opportunity to study art history: together we can transform the future of the arts.
